Can the strange content in the Quran's stories be believed? | Islam; Why and How?
7:49 In this video we answer one of the most challenging questions and objections about the Quran: Are the stories and miracles mentioned in the holy book of Muslims compatible with today's reason, science and logic? Critics usually raise issues such as the global scale of Noah's flood, Jonah surviving in the belly of the fish, the historical error regarding "Haman", and the story of Dhul-Qarnayn, presenting them as scientific and historical errors of the Quran. In this episode of the "Islam; Why and How?" series, we examine these criticisms with a precise, documented and rational approach, and clarify the difference between the explicit text of the Quran and weak narrations or Isra'iliyyat (narrations of Jewish origin).
Topics discussed in this video:
The truth about Noah's flood; was it a global flood, and did millions of animal species board the ark?
The historical objection about "Haman"; did the Quran confuse the vizier of Egypt with the minister of the Achaemenid king?
The mystery of Dhul-Qarnayn and the story of the sun setting in a muddy spring, from a scientific and geographical perspective
The moral philosophy of the story of Prophet Abraham (pbuh) sacrificing his son
Examining the scientific possibility of Prophet Jonah (pbuh) surviving in the belly of the fish, and how to approach miracles rationally
