Are the stories of the Quran copied from ancient legends? | Myths of the Ancients
6:59 About this video:
One of the criticisms raised about the Quran from the early days of Islam to the present day is the claim that its stories are imitative. Critics argue that the striking similarity between stories such as Noah’s Flood or Dhul-Qarnayn and ancient Babylonian and Greek myths suggests these tales are fictional. In this video, taking a logical approach based on verses from the Quran itself (specifically from Surahs An-Naml, Al-Furqan, Al-Hijr, and An-Nahl), we address whether these similarities indicate plagiarism or if the Quran provides the authentic, uncorrupted account of a historical reality. We also examine the hypothesis of what effect it would have on the Quran's truthfulness and guidance if certain stories were symbolic.
