Have you ever asked yourself exactly for what purpose the Quran was revealed and what its main mission is?

To examine the truth of the Prophet of Islam and evaluate the claim of the Quran being a miracle, the first step is to understand what subject and goal this book pursues. The best way to achieve this is to refer to the Quran itself and examine over a hundred verses in which it describes its mission and effects.

Two Fundamental Pillars: Guidance and Mercy

If we review the verses, we see that the most frequent words the Quran uses to introduce itself are "Guidance" and "Mercy". Over 250 uses of the cognates of guidance and more than 400 uses of the derivatives of mercy, alongside beginning the chapters with the attribute of God's mercy (Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Rahim), carry a clear message: The Quran is a message of mercy from God to lead humanity to a transcendent destination.

Answering Humanity's Greatest Question

As we explored in the 15th episode of this series, the most important reason that compels us to examine the claims of the prophets is finding an answer to the "meaning and purpose of life". Now we see the Quran claiming that not only does it contain the answer to this profound question, but it also miraculously and uniquely guides its audience on the path to reaching that ultimate destination.

In this video (Episode 31 of the series "Islam: Why and How?"), we will examine this topic more closely.
