Islam: why and how? Episode 28

Which Islam is Real? Searching for Truth Amidst Thousands of Sects and Distortions

3:51

3:51

In this video, we explore a rational and human duty: to determine whether a religion claiming to be from God is convincing or not. However, when we decide to examine Islam, we face a major challenge: the existence of thousands of sects, branches, and contradictory interpretations that sometimes even excommunicate one another.

In this situation, which Islam should we investigate? Should we rely on the majority of Muslims, the opinion of scholars, or the history of Islamic societies? The answer is that religions and schools of thought undergo distortion and alteration over time, and none of these necessarily represent God's original message.

We argue in this video that to understand the essence of Islam, we must turn to the only source that is undoubted and agreed upon by everyone: the Quran. Unlike hadiths and traditions where disagreements exist, the Quran is the clear, definitive, and common standard among all Muslims, and the "real Islam" is the religion presented by the Quran.
